My Story
I’ve always been fascinated by what helps people thrive. That curiosity led me to study Psychology at Penn State and earn a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology—learning how people and teams work best together. People often asked me, “Why study psychology? What kind of job can you get with that?” To me, the mind is one of our greatest powers. It can hold us back or, when understood, become the source of our deepest strength. At work, I saw psychology everywhere: confidence, biases, workplace politics, interviewing, motivation, leadership and collaboration.
Originally from the New York area, I moved to California in my 20s with no job and just a dream. I took risks, endured long commutes, and lived in a tiny studio with my partner. At one point, I drove for Uber to make ends meet—little did I know that driving the streets of San Francisco would lead me to the gaming industry. I had a long conversation with a UX designer in games that created a spark in my soul, "maybe I too could work in video games one day". For the next 3 months I checked Sony's website each day for new jobs. Late one night a role opened and I applied, not expecting to hear back. I still remember the moment clearly: I had just turned down a cubicle job, even though I needed the money. A week later, feeling defeated and lost, Sony called. The sun was setting in Oakland, and as I dropped my head, tears began to fall to the concrete. That moment changed my life and taught me the power of self-belief, staying true to who you are, and persevering through hardship.
My career path has been diverse. I started as an HR intern at an aerospace startup, Planet.com, then became the sole recruiting coordinator at PlayStation’s San Francisco office before moving to Los Angeles to recruit for Riot Games. From there, I transitioned into production, building League of Legends’ in-game missions, and later managed League’s global store. Finally, I had the honor of leading Splash Art, one of the industry’s top art teams, collaborating with creatives to build art we hoped would inspire the world.
These experiences shaped how I understand creativity, leadership, and resilience. Today, I bring those lessons into my coaching, helping gaming and tech professionals build stronger careers, healthier work lives, and create careers they truly love.
